Abstract-
The bus tracking system plays a vital role in the current technology because of its various applications.
Because of population explosion and
unusual and unexpected conditions on the road, there is a need for efficient
public transportation system. Also, everyday problems such as traffic
congestion, unexpected delays, randomness in passenger demand, irregular
vehicle dispatching time take place and because of which the schedule of
passengers are affected and they inevitably have to wait for their respective bus. This passenger inconvenience can be avoided by
introducing a system which provides real time information about the location
and estimated time of arrival of the buses. So we propose a new system which
solves the drawback of the current public transportation system. Our system
handles all the data like current location of the bus and management of buses.
It provides the current location of a bus on Google maps to the remote user
using a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver. An Android device will
transmit the location to the Web server.
From here the Android application will retrieve the data and display the
real - time information of the bus. This application can be widely used by the
public since Android smart phones have become common and affordable for all.
The real time bus tracking system is a system designed to display the real-time
locations of the bus. It is cost- effective and also eco-friendly as it helps
to conserve the natural resources like petroleum.
